Chapter's one through five have been revised. It's been pretty rough the past few days trying to figure out grammar rules and such, but I think I've figured them out well enough to continue revising. Here's a layout of what my "stages" are:
Stage I: Rough draft. Write the thing down. I kind of skipped the brainstorming stage, but I'll most likely do that first for any other books I write. This stage is finished.
Stage II: Preliminary revisions. Making sure the grammar and writing style matches up throughout the book. Because it took so long to write, my writing style changed over the course of the rough draft. This has been difficult to fix, but I'm slowly getting there.
Stage III: Peer editing. Getting a select group of friends to read the book and look for errors, both in the story and in the grammar and layout. They might pick up something that I forgot to mention.
Stage IV: Final revisions and formatting. Going over my friends edits and making sure the format of the book will look good for Stage V, which is...
Stage V: Publishing. I'll be self publishing, using Createspace.com to publish and print the books. I might even go back and figure out a Kindle Edition if the demand is high enough. Although, to be honest, I don't think this will ever really take off. I hope it will, but there are so many fantasy books out there now that it will probably get lost in the sea of unread books. As long as people enjoy the story, I could care less whether it actually takes off... Although, if it turns out to be my lucky break, I won't complain.
Right now, I'm in Stage II, and chugging right along...
